The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK or the Institute) was established by the Accountants Act Cap 573 laws of Kenya and amended by the Accountants Act no 15 of 2008, with the primary mandate to register, regulate and develop the accountancy profession in Kenya. ICPAK is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the global umbrella body for the accountancy profession, and the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA). The Institute has a membership of over 38,000 registered and fully qualified professional accountants who work in all spheres of the economy and perform a key role in driving and shaping the economy.
In fulfilment of its mandate to develop ethical and competent accountants anchored on Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants, the Institute requires accountants to fill an ethical checklist as one of the key pre-requisites towards attainment of ‘member in good standing’ status as and when they register or renew their membership.
